The Island is a popular Smoky Mountain attraction that is excellent for families and people of all ages.  There is no charge to get in, and you can choose to spend as much as you'd like. If you are on a budget, I recommend it because there is a lot of free entertainment here.

There are fountains, that have shows at certain times, when the music plays as the fountain water dances to the beat.  Free rocking chairs are everywhere, so you don't have to worry if you need a break.

There are plenty of public restrooms, and people watching is easy when you are surrounded by rides, activities, and food vendors

It also has a beautiful river, ducks, tons of parking, and a trolley to bring you from parking if you don't want to walk.

Want to see fireworks?  The Island puts on an excellent fireworks shows during holidays and also may have live music and entertainment as well.
